Profile:

Mr. WANG worked in China Supreme People’s Court for 10 years as a junior IP judge. Then, he has been practicing IP laws for 5 years till now. In court, he was mainly involved in IP enforcement and IP judicial protection work. From 2007 to 2009, as a counsel, Mr. Wang was designated to work for China central government in the US-Sino IP dispute in the WTO (DS 362). In August 2008, Mr. Wang was appointed as a member of the leading panel of Supreme People’s Court to carry out “Outline of China National IP Strategy”. He was also involved in the job of amending China Patent Law and of drafting IP-related judicial interpretations of Supreme Court. He often joined IP-related research projects in lower courts and attended IP forums as a speaker. In 2010, Mr. Wang was appointed as a Guest Researcher for the Intangible Assets Research Center at the China University of Political Science and Law.

In 2004, Mr. Wang was sent by China central government to the US and Japan to pursue the advanced legal study and was granted Master of Law in Yokohama National University and LLM in University of Hawaii. In the meanwhile, He is doing the graduation paper as a PhD candidate in University of Washington in the US.

Case highlights:

During Mr. Wang’s years in the China Supreme People’s Court, he directed or is involved in many IP related civil cases and criminal cases. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Wang was designated to work for China central government in the US-Sino IP dispute in the WTO (DS 362). He is familiar with international patent related laws and rules.

Currently, he was or has been directing patent infringement litigations and the IP Assignment and Negotiation for Japanese Sharp Co, Japanese Mitsubishi Co, German SATA GmbH, German Drager Gmbh, German RENA Gmbh, Chinese Founder Group of Beijing University(北大方正集团), COFCO(中粮集团). He is also main litigators in many other cases of patent ownership disputes, trade secret disputes and trademark disputes.

TAKANO Hiroshi took part in R&D center of Panasonic Corporation for optical design in 2000. Since 2003, he participated in patent application and patent warning in the department of intellectual property.

In 2007, TAKANO Hiroshi worked as partner in Watson & Band, focused on patent infringement litigation.

In 2009, TAKANO Hiroshi participated in Kangxin Partners as a partner of Asian area. He was in charge of complicated civil and criminal cases of Sharp, Yonex, Mitsubishi Motor, etc.

In 2012, TAKANO Hiroshi established Yingqiao intellectual property consulting company, mainly dealt with the issues of patent warning and circumvention for Chinese large state-owned enterprises in their overseas market.

Ms. Li received her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2000. She received her Master’s degree in Civil Law, Commercial Law, and IP Law from China University of Political Science and Law in 2006.

In 2000, she worked for the Chinese government as a paralegal, and later in a law firm as an associate. In 2006, after being admitted to practice before Chinese courts, Ms. Li joined a famous domestic IP agency, where she specializes in Intellectual Property disputes, particularly patent issues.

Case Highlights:

  1. In 2011, successfully defended Gree Electric Applicants, Inc of Zhuhai in patent invalidation litigation for a “self-defining sleep curve air conditioner”, which has been recognized as one of the Top 10 IPR cases for 2011 in China as listed by the Supreme People’s Court of PRC.
  2. Successfully represented a client in a patent invalidation case which concerned CHONGQING DONGBEN INDUSTRY CO, LTD, the owner of a utility model patent for a “motor tricycle frame”, which is considered one of Top 10 IPR cases for 2011 by the SIPO Patent Re-examination Board.
  3. Successfully acted for other well-known domestic and foreign companies in patent invalidation cases and invalidation appeals such as Ford Co., Unilin, ZTE, Shimano, Siemens, Haier, Karsten&Ping
  4. Successfully acted for Sharp Corporation in patent infringement evidence collection which urges both parties to make settlement.
  5. Successfully acted for Japan company, Mitsubishi in a series of patent infringement litigations relating to automobile.
  6. Successfully acted for French company, Norinco in a series of litigations related to IPR enforcement.
  7. Successfully acted for American company, K2 in its invention patent litigation and other patent invalidation case.

Profile:

Mr. Yushu ZHANG started his IP career as an engineer 25 years ago. Then he became a judicial police in PSB, in charge of technological inspection.  Since 2001, Mr. ZHANG started to practice as a patent attorney at Unitalen IP Partners. Mr. ZHANG has been focusing on the patent prosecution, invalidation procedures, infringement cases, and other IP disputes. Till now, the number of the total cases reaches hundreds for Mr. ZHANG. Mr. Zhang’s main technicl field is chemistry and bioengineering.

Mr. ZHANG himself focuses on the domestic business direction, but he has been involved in many international clients’ infringement matters through working with his IP colleagues.
