Working Experience

John WANG worked on judicial protection and trial of IP in the Supreme People's Court for nearly 10 years, during which he was commissioned by the court to participate in the whole process of China-US IP WTO dispute from 2007 to 2009, participated in the revision of the Patent Law, drafting of judicial interpretation for a multiple of IP cases, went to local courts and relevant departments with relevant IP officials from ministries to conduct investigations and offer guidance to on IP judicial protection and trial, and attended many important domestic and international IP conferences and forums as keynote speakers. From 2004 to 2007, he was chosen in the 'Young Official Talent Exchange Program' and sent to Japan and the United States where he graduated with Master's degrees with excellent performance. In 2009, he went to Washington University for JD in IP. In 2010, he was invited as a special researcher by the Research Center for Intangible Asset Management, China University of Political Science and Law. From 2010 to 2014, he was Partner and a lawyer in a well-known IP agency. He is now the Administrative Executive Partner and a Senior Advisor of the firm, and also a lawyer licensed in the New York State.

Highlights
  • During Mr. Wang's years in the China Supreme People's Court, he directed or is involved in many IP related civil cases and criminal cases. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Wang was designated to work for China central government in the US-Sino IP dispute in the WTO (DS 362). He is familiar with international patent related laws and rules.
  • Currently, he was or has been directing patent infringement litigations and the IP Assignment and Negotiation for Japanese Sharp Co, Japanese Mitsubishi Co, German SATA GmbH, German Drager Gmbh, German RENA Gmbh, Chinese Founder Group of Beijing University, COFCO(中粮集团). He is also main litigators in many other cases of patent ownership disputes, trade secret disputes and trademark disputes
